SBP Dolphin Volunteer Requirements
Summer swimming is a labor-intensive effort; it takes a large number of volunteers to run a successful swim season. Because we are a small, neighborhood program, we do NOT offer a “buy-out” option. By registering your swimmers with the team, you are agreeing to abide by the team’s requirements for volunteering. All team families must volunteer to help for at least five events. At least one parent or guardian must sign up to cover a full event, from start to finish. Events and responsibilities include:
A meets, which take place on Saturday mornings. Volunteers need to be available from 7:45 AM to approximately noon.
B meets, which take place on Wednesday nights. Volunteers need to be available from approximately 5:15 PM to 9 PM.
Meet responsibilities include lane timing; bake sale set-up, sales, and clean-up; meet set-up and clean-up; deck runners/clerk of course assistant, and various other duties. Volunteers must be available for the entire meet; the Referee and/or the Meet Manager will assign duties.
Additional volunteer opportunities include coordinator/chairperson roles for other team-sponsored events and activities, including the annual awards banquet, Dolphin Games, swimathon, Dolphin Dance, etc.
